Sweater-Target (can get all sweaters 10% off with cartwheel app this week) // Scarf-c/o Dottie Q

It’s officially scarf season! And anyone who knows me, knows I love scarfs. I will wear them year round but love chunky knits for fall and winter. Yes, I love scarfs because they keep me warm, but I also love scarfs because they are easy to throw on with any outfit and take the outfit a little further. Throwing on a scarf over a sweater (chunky or not) makes the whole #ootd just a little more chic. With scarves you have endless possibilities. They come in different patterns, materials and most of them can be styled several different ways.

I have fallen in love with scarves from Dottie Q. Not only are they in beautiful knits, but the colors are just perfect. I love this grass color that I have since green is every where for Fall fashion. Of course you can get your regular style infinity scarf from Dottie Q but she offers something a little more exciting, a scarf necklace. This scarf (styled above) can be worn several different ways; we all know I love something that can be styled numerous ways. The scarf can be worn long with the wrap part at the nape of the neck or showing for a textural view. The scarf can be worn layered just like you would a necklace. You can take half of the scarf and loop it around your neck. Wearing the scarf long and layered actually allows for you to wear necklaces for an even more layered and textural look. Or you can double the whole scarf for a bundled up look. The possibilities are endless with this scarf.

Dottie Q scarves are all handmade and available on Etsy or on her website. She also offers boot socks and hand muffs. All of her pieces are as eco-friendly as possible, and she uses recycled mailing supplies. The best part of this shop; Dottie Q donates a percentage to Tenth Life Cat Rescue in St. Louis. You know that appealed to the cat lover in me!

Birthday Wishes

Birthday Wishes

My birthday is in a few short weeks and here are few things I wouldn’t be at all upset if I was I gifted.

Ban.Do Planner– My planner ended this month and for school, work and blogging a planner is a must. I love the floral print of this one and the inside is so quirky!

Bean Boots– I have been wanting a pair of these for a while now, but just haven’t taken the plunge. These would be perfect for Fall hiking (which is a must) and Asheville’s weather in the Fall and Winter.

French Broad Chocolate’s Summer Collection– Yes Please! Who doesn’t want a box of chocolates that sound absolutely wonderful? I’m dying to get my hands on a box of this sweetness!

Beach Bones Jewelry Crystal Pyramid Stud Earrings– I came across Beach Bones Jewelry on Etsy and have been in love ever since. I have been eyeing these earrings for some time now. The crystal studs would be perfect for the boho vibe I have been more drawn too.

Cast Iron Skillet– Yes I want a cast iron skillet! Pinterest dreams would come true if I had this!

Jewelry For Mom

Mother’s Day is right around the corner! An easy, effortlessly gift is jewelry; and what mom doesn’t love jewelry? I’ve picked out some personal pieces and stylish pieces to help you out when shopping in the upcoming two weeks!

Jewelry For Mom

I love this Mountain Range Necklace from Christina Nicole and think it would be perfect for the nature lover, someone who lives in the mountains, if the mountains hold special memories or even a symbol of strength for your mom!

Jewelry For Mom

Initial Charm Necklaces are a great way for mom to wear personal jewelry. I love Tom Design for this because there are several ways it can be done. They offer several finishes, styles including necklaces and bracelets, and you can do letters or numbers! This shop is also very affordable but hurry because you will need to order by May 1st to get it delivered in time for Mother’s Day!

Jewelry For Mom

I think really simple jewelry can go a long way. If your mom is a fashionista I highly recommend checking out Ashkal Shop on Etsy for really great tube rings that are simple, stylish, comfortable and affordable.

Jewelry For Mom

I really think this necklace from Joyfully Crafted Shop is an abstract take on the traditional personalized necklaces. Since the necklace is shaped in tube form only the person wearing it will no what it says but it will still give a stylish feel to an outfit.

Jewelry For Mom

Pandora is a great gift for mom, in my opinion one of the greatest! What’s so great about this bracelet is that you can buy it as a starter bracelet, if she already owns one you can add a charm to it, and for in the future you can add to this bracelet. There are plenty of charms to fit any personality and there are even mom themed charms!

Jewelry For Mom

Birthstone jewelry is a great gift for mom because it has meaning, but also it’s not over the top if your mom is very simple. I love the gemstone jewelry available at Jared The Galleria of Jewelry, I think it is great quality, plus their warranty is the best I’ve seen around. My emeralds are one of my favorite dainty pieces that I wear almost everyday, but there is a great selection of different styles at Jared..

Favorite Jewelry Shops

Jewelry is a great way to add some extra personality to your outfit, and it also makes a great and affordable way to update your wardrobe for the upcoming season. Generally (not in all cases) your accessories may be much more affordable than new clothes and can make an old outfit feel totally different and fresh. So here are some of my favorite places I pick up some affordable pieces at.

2-37Holiday Style

Viva La Jewels

Viva La Jewels is an online boutique that offers clothing and accessories. The jewelry selection is great because it reminds you of designer brands but at a fraction of the cost. I have bought a few pieces from the website and I love them all. Also you can receive an additional 10% off your order by using code:STEPHANIEREP.

Jamberry Nail Wraps

Local Boutiques

Every town has some sort of local boutique, and now days you can find some really interesting one of a kind pieces. A lot of local boutiques offer pieces from local artists and brands that are extremely popular. Just because the name isn’t huge doesn’t mean the stuff isn’t quality or for what really matters, perfect for your style. One of my favorite places to shop in Asheville for unique jewelry is Elementality.

10-2-2

Antique Stores

Antique stores are a great way to find really unique pieces that not everyone is going to have. Sometimes things are really expensive but if you look hard enough, you can generally find something at a really good deal. If you go towards the end of the month most vendors have product on sale because they are trying to get new product in their cases, and sometimes if the vendor is actually at the store you can sometimes bargain with them. Bryant Antiques in Biltmore Village is my favorite store to visit for furs and jewelry.

Almost 25 Errands

Wal-Mart

Surprisingly enough, Wal-Mart has stepped up their game on a lot of products. If you love J.Crew inspired jewelry but are not fond of the J.Crew price, Wal-Mart has some knock offs that are around $10.00 and are actually pretty good quality. Most of the jewelry pieces are not on the Wal-Mart website so head on over to your local store (you may actually want to run there).

Festive Attire

Etsy Shops

Just like local boutiques you can find really neat and affordable jewelry through Etsy. You can honestly find just about anything, for every style. One of my new favorite shops is Ashkal. The handmade rings are perfect for just about any style and they are really affordable!

I Went to Jared...2-35

Department Stores

If you are looking for fine jewelry to add to your jewelry box Belk and Jared are my favorite places to go. Jared The Galleria of Jewelry has a great selection of diamonds, pearls and Pandora. Belk has a great selection of designer watches, and Belk always has a great sale on their precious stones, diamonds, and pearls..

Spring is almost here and I know it’s been a long, snowy, bundled up winter and we all want nothing more than to dress in Spring-like clothes, but can we really afford it? Generally Spring and Summer clothes are the same; flowy fabrics, floral, neons, pastels, maxi dresses and sandals. Don’t you already have that in your closet? I find the best way to add to my Spring and Summer wardrobe by staying in a budget is by adding new accessories to my wardrobe to make it feel new. Of course I might add a new pair of boyfriend shorts (currently 15.00 at Old Navy), t-shirts (because you can style them many ways) and some kimonos. But other than those few things, I will just add some fun boho jewelry, a hat and a tribal print bag. I really think I might even do a DIY version of 13 and 16! Have fun with your new season of style but also don’t break the bank! Everything I have listed is under $30.00 besides the Bauble Bar earrings (only $32.00), the Beach Bones Jewelry earrings, and the  Christina Nicole Mountain Range necklace.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Sweatshirt- H&M (men’s) // Jeans-Target // Booties- Forever 21 // Stacking Rings- Etsy // Quartz Rings- Etsy // Bag-Forever 21 // Iman Lipstick in Red- Ulta

Sundays are meant for brunching, coffee, lounging, hanging out in your town, catching up on work, making to-do lists for the week and spending time with your favorite people. I put together a little look that would be perfect for my type of Sunday. I generally hangout on Sunday; doing art stuff, taking pictures, going to my favorite diner, running errands and getting ready for the week ahead. There’s also a lot of Netflix that happens (especially since 3 new seasons of Law & Order SVU is now available). I’m loving this whole look of casual meets girly meets boho look; hence the men’s sweatshirt, pink booties, stacking gold rings, red lip and a bag big enough to carry all my Sunday essentials. How do you style your Sunday outfits?

Shop Small, Support Local

This shopping weekend remember all of the small and local businesses when you are shopping. I love to support small businesses and local businesses! Generally the quality of your goods are better and money is being put into a local community versus a corporation. Here are some of my favorite small businesses at the moment.

10-2-2

I love these earrings I purchased at Bryant Antiques in Asheville. I have several things from there. Yes, everything is used, but if you have a vintage lover in your life a piece of jewelry would be greatly appreciated. I know I wouldn’t mind getting a gift from an Antique store. Also every town has a locally owned antique/vintage shop.

9-2-13

Asheville has plenty of craft fairs this coming weekend where you can buy locally hand crafted goods. These pop up all over the country and are a great way to get gifts and support locally.

Beach Style

I love my Tom Design number necklace. You can get any numbers or letters in 3 different finishes. This makes for a very sentimental, personal and affordable gift! Follow the Facebook page for possible sales this coming weekend!

11-57

I love my new ring from Ashkal, I’ve been wearing it every day. It’s perfect for a rocker, boho, or laid back style. It’s just perfect for everyone! And these rings are extremely affordable. This Black Friday Ashkal will be offering 15% off your purchase with code:BLACK2014!!! I’m actually eyeing THIS!

I also have a newest addiction; Jamberry nail wraps! Howard Jams will be offering prizes beginning at 5am on Black Friday with purchases. These which are $15.00 for 2 manicures and 2 pedicures are the perfect stocking stuffer! You can shop HERE!

11-58

Viva La Jewels offers a great assortment of jewelry and clothes at a very affordable price. I just recently scooped up this necklace for a steal of a deal! Tonight on Facebook there will be a Black Friday auction with great discounts and you can always shop on the website for great deals. Plus you can always use code:Stephanierep for an additional 10% off your purchase!

Baby Get Your Shine On

Gravel Road Tees is by far, hands down, one of my most favorite small businesses right now! You guys know I love my t-shirts (hello I live in them)! The cute graphics are a plus, but the softness of the t-shirt is amazing. Even Andrew loves this shirt, and I have to literally hide it in the closet so he can’t find it. The owner is fantastic and so so so sweet! Gravel Road Tees is local to North Carolina! Stay tuned on Facebook for Black Friday sales. Also stay tuned to the blog next week because I have styled this shirt for the holidays that you won’t want to miss out on!.

It’s finally starting to get chilly in Asheville, the nights are actually really cold so it’s time to start layering all the warm clothes I can. I really love to wear scarfs with out a fold and belting it in with the rest of my outfit as I have done here; it keeps you a little warmer and is sometimes much cuter depending on the scarf! Don’t be afraid to add pops of colors or prints just because the temperatures are dropping. I added this fun plum colored belt and leopard print sneakers to this rather bland outfit, plus my scarf has some gold sparkle in there. I hope all of you had a great weekend!

Fall LookBook: Farmers Market and Errands

T-shirt-Target // Leggings- Forever 21 // Boots-Charlotte Russe //Kimono-Forever 21 // Jacket-Old Navy // Hat-Forever 21 (sold out)// Rings- Etsy and Forever 21 // Necklace-Charlotte Russe (old, similar) // Bag-Target (sold out, similar)

Key elements to this look: floppy hat, comfortable pants and top, riding boots, an oversized cardigan or kimono.

The last days of September are perfect for chilly weather in the morning and night but in the day can be a little warmer (still under 80 though). So it’s a perfect time to hit up the Farmers Market for the last of the seasonal produce for a farm to table dinner! These leggings and kimono are perfect for running around town. It’s such a boho vibe (which is out of my element but thought I’d try it) and I absolutely love this. This will be my go to outfit before it gets to cool for running and picking up more art supplies, running my midterms off in the mail, and doing some shopping at local boutiques and Trader Joes and the new Whole Foods.

If the weather switches completely on you, or when it cools off and your still out and about, add a fun printed jacket or cardigan! I love this camo jacket I got from Old Navy and it’s also something perfect for running around in. Also if you don’t like the boho look above, this look below is exactly the same but one layer is changed and it’s totally different chic look. How will you be playing with styles this Fall?

Biltmore + Casual Style

Biltmore + Casual Style

For the big 25th birthday this year, I got a season pass to The Biltmore Estate. Go ahead and call me an old lady, but I’m super stoked about being a pass holder. This past weekend I finally was able to have a little time from work and school to actually go and get my pass and visit the grounds. I hadn’t been in the house since high school, and I’ve never visited the grounds or house when it isn’t frigidly cold outside or at Christmas time. I was in for a treat considering this was the hottest weekend of the entire year in Asheville. Since I live so close and have the pass now I wasn’t in a rush to explore everything all at once; I pretty much wanted to scope out the grounds for some photo opportunities, date ideas and things I could do if someone visits me in Asheville (which my best friend from high school swears he will visit soon).

So the largest privately owned home in America will be my new background for lots of pictures for 30 Shades of Stephanie. So get ready, because I’m beyond excited to get to know the grounds like my own back yard.
