There are times when I do like to add a pop of color to an outfit, especially around holidays. So since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner it’s the perfect excuse to add some pops of red to an #ootd. I’m not the hugest fan of pink (unless it’s blush and muted) so red is my go to Valentine’s Day color.
This outfit works perfectly for me for Valentine’s Day. It’s comfortable, flattering and perfect for date night just about anywhere. Adding tights and booties gives it that extra layer of warmth for the cold spell we are having in the mountains and are bound to have in February. But this would be cute sans those with some strappy black sandals. I added a bold necklace to give the sleek and modern fit of the outfit another pop and fun element for date night. Since a pencil skirt and peplum is enough on it’s on, I added a classic vintage clutch just big enough for necessities. And there it is, the perfect Valentine’s date night outfit!
What will all of you be wearing for Valentine’s Day?
I am super simple when it comes to my make up. Even when the holiday events and parties roll around. I can’t do crazy dramatic eyes because I have extremely watery and sensitive eyes. So to avoid a mess and styes I keep it simple every day. I have been loving my Kat Von D palette for eyes and it goes perfect for the holidays as well since that rusty color is very popular. I kept my wing simple since I was going for a more dramatic lip. And by dramatic I mean sparkly. I love playing with make up just as much as the next person so thought I would go for a shimmery lip. I added Bad Blood by Urban Decay and then went over it with this new NYX Lip Of The Day Art Pen in a rose gold. I topped the entire look off with Bardot blush from ColourPop Cosmetics because it gives an equal part glowy goddess, equal part wind kissed cheeks.
So I have recently fallen in love with ColourPop this year. After hearing all the hype I decided I would give it a whirl and fell in love. **Most of the products are vegan (a few products are not), the entire line is cruelty free and all the product is made here in the USA. Plus let me not forget to mention the entire brand is affordable. So you think it might not be great. Nope way wrong. The quality is amazing for the price you pay. The matte lips I have purchased have stayed on longer than any liquid lipstick I own. You can find anyone some goodies from ColourPop for gifts; almost everyone I know is getting something from the brand for Christmas. (SHHH don’t tell)
So I wanted to share the love with all of you. I am giving away a Bardot Super Shock Cheek and a Ultra Matte Lip in Mink from the Blues Baby collection. All you have to do is find the picture below on my Instagram and follow the instructions there:
P.S. It’s really simple to enter! All you have to do is like the picture and follow me!
Also make sure you check back here and Instagram daily because I will be giving away a product from different companies all week!
Happy Glam Holidays!
I hope you all enjoyed the long holiday weekend. Even though I worked the majority of the holiday weekend, I tried to fit in as much fun as possible.
On Sunday, Andrew and I cooked a big breakfast for the family before braving the dirty French Broad for some tubing with Zen Tubing. I may or may not have drank too many beers, convinced a child she paddled us the entire adventure and got a nasty cut on my foot. But whose to say those things actually happened.
Fireworks were watched at Lake Lure, I wouldn’t recommend trying this unless you are staying there because we spent more time in traffic than the amount of time it takes to get to the beach.
Oh and there was a lot of yummy food!
Yup, that’s pretty much it.

Que No Doubt or Gwen Stefani because I feel like jamming out in this #ootd. And that is precisely why I love it. Oh and it’s super easy.
I kind of have this love affair with stripes. Up until a few years ago, stripes were something unless you were a stick, you should avoid. Always told by people of influence, stores, magazines, fashion icons and even people surrounding me. If you aren’t supposed to wear it, why were there so many stripes? Because I was meant to wear them! And I can’t stop. Stripes are my newest obsession. And the shape of the shirt is what makes the print flattering or not. I like to go for either a boxy, oversized shirt or a fitted shirt. This shirt is the boxy style and I love it. But let’s be honest, I love all my striped clothing.
Fashion is about taking chances on yourself. Finding something you like, no matter what anyone else thinks and rocking it. And that for me is stripes. Dark stripes.
Don’t forget to enter the Giveaway for a pair of LuLaRoe leggings!Â
Let me just start by saying; I have a new obsession. The obsession is real, it’s turned in to a love affair really. And it’s name is LuLaRoe. Seriously I don’t think I’ve ever been in love with a clothing brand this much. And everyone else I have come across who has owned anything LuLaRoe can back up my statement.
A few months back I came in contact with Cara, a consultant for LuLaRoe, and had just been turned on to the line. I did some serious research before I met with her and about 95% off the feedback, reviews, posts and #ootd’s were all great. Almost fan girly. After I met with Cara and tried on my first piece, I knew what all the hype was about. I was in love.
I shared the black and white polka dot Amelia  because I just couldn’t wait to share it with you. I thought this dress was heavenly, that was until I really wore the leggings and the Irma. I could honestly live in the Irma (striped top pictured above) and leggings.
The leggings are like butter. No, like a second skin actually. I don’t want to take them off. I’m sad I didn’t snag a solid black pair. (But I will). I was very skeptical of the sizing (they come in OS and TC) but the Tall and Curvy fit great. The sizing chart can be found here. Also, I wanted to branch out with this brand and go for leggings I normally wouldn’t gravitate towards (all my leggings are dark). Now I understand why women want them all. I am a firm believer that leggings can be worn as pants (I do very frequently) as long as your lady bits are covered, both front and back. And these leggings honestly make me want to never wear denim or any other type of pants again. Now you may say, that’s a bold statement. But have you put a pair of these on? You’ll understand once you have them on. Heavenly. That’s all I can really say!
I’m a fan girl. I want some solid black leggings, some more Irmas and I’m dying to try the Julia. I’m also really excited to see the prints they release for Fall. On Tuesday I will be showing you how I styled my Cassie three different ways.
And you can too! You can get in contact with Cara on her Facebook group, you can shop some of Cara’s inventory at A Touch of Cass in Burnsville, NC, you can host a pop up with Cara and thanks to Cara one of you will have the chance to win your own pair of leggings!
Yes! Thanks to Cara I am giving away a pair of LuLaRoe leggings to one lucky reader! All you have to do to enter to win is follow the instructions below!

Entire Outfit-Versona (in stores)
I know I have been sharing a lot of black and white outfits lately, but I’ve been testing ideas for a few final presentations, portfolio pictures and a graduation celebration. So I have been pairing a lot of black and white together. I already love black anyways. But with each outfit that I’ve been planning I am constantly playing with textures and prints. So with this #ootd I played with the tulle texture of the skirt, pairing it with a casual cotton shirt, suede and leather flats and finally topping it off with a mixed textured necklace. This pop of burgandy leather cording and brass beads is the perfect boho addition to this dressed up outfit. By also choosing the necklace in different color it adds a fun element that not only shows my personality but breaks of the professionalism of the black and white outfit.
If you haven’t been over to Versona in Asheville market, I highly recommend it. I love it. They have so many trendy, yet quality pieces. It’s boutique style on a budget.
Ahhhh I’m so excited to be heading on a celebration vacation! Every time I’m ready to head out on a road trip I begin thinking of all the songs I’m going to listen to on the way to the destination. Generally I try to download the songs to iTunes even though a part of me always still wants to burn a CD to remind me of my old road trips. So I go through a make an upbeat playlist and have this plan to have a great party in the car but generally I play about 5 songs, pass out and wake up just in time to be getting to the vacation spot. So here are a few songs I constantly listen to when I’m heading out on a road trip.
I loveeeeee this song and generally I am traveling with Andrew so it makes it special. No matter where we are, where we travel to, I always feel at home with him by my side.
I have a little thug nasty side (not going to lie) and I have a slight obsession with Tupac (West Side)! Hahaha I have no idea why, but I have to listen to this song when traveling. Haha. This song brings back so many college memories and just puts a smile on my face.
I just can’t help it, I love this song and it reminds me of Summer. It actually reminds me of late night car rides with the windows and the mountain air blowing in.
There’s a lot of flipping through Pandora stations between the 2000’s Hip Hop station, Florence and The Machines station and Spice Girls station.
I’m heading on an exciting trip to celebrate graduating so there’s going to be a bunch of fun stuff going down or maybe a lot of sleep or maybe just a lot of relaxing. Either way make sure you are following on Instagram and SnapChat (s.ferguson6623) to follow along with all the exciting things I will be up to!
If you are following me over on Instagram you may know that I am in my final semester of college, taking my final exams for the next week and preparing to graduate. With all of this craziness whirling around, the other day to prevent a complete and total meltdown of a combo of being tired and panicking that there aren’t enough hours in the day I took a little time to reflect on what’s happened this time in college. I thought about how prepared I am for a new job, the sense that I have a lot of knowledge about what I’m studying, how much I have given up to make sure I made it through school as an adult, the people who have been supportive the entire time, opportunities I have been given like my internship and this little space here. See for my degree I had to take several social media, marketing and website classes. For one of my very first website classes I had to create a function website and 30 Shades of Stephanie was born. I knew about future classes I would need to take and thought this would be the best to constantly transform and grow with my degree and it fit with the emphasis in fashion that I was going for. I had read some fashion blogger’s blogs prior to creating mine but still had absolutely no idea what I was doing. But I still did it. And it constantly kept growing. Then there was a time that I no longer need to work with a website or a live social media campaign. But I had carved out a spot of my mind, heart and soul for this, and well, it’s still here. It has grown so much in the past few years, evolved in to something I am proud of, morphed in to something I take pride in and something I enjoy devoting my time to. I love sharing new finds, new trends, affordable pieces, how I’m dressing and what I’m doing with you. So thanks for being there, thanks for making it something fun, thanks for making it more than a grade, thanks for making me go the extra mile, thanks for constantly challenging me, thanks for opening up new opportunities to me. Thanks for supporting me.
Dress // Necklace // Bracelet (similar) // Sandals
I was recently introduced to the company LulaRoe which they are known for their leggings, but I’m testing out a few different pieces including this Amelia dress! I love love this dress even though it is a tad longer than I would normally wear for a shorter dress. The shape, pattern and the fact that there are pockets reminds me of a 50s style dress, which I love. This dress is a serious contender for my graduation celebration. I kept my make up extremely simple and added accents of gold to modernize the #ootd a little more. For a casual day of grocery shopping I just added some sandals but this would like great with some red heels.
For the past two weekends all I have seen on social media are posts from Coachella and of course I’m a little jealous because I’m here in Asheville working and doing homework. So on Sunday when I had to run out and do some errands for a few projects I decided to bring Coachella with me in my #ootd minus faux body tattoos and floral crowns. This boyfriend top from Old Navy is the perfect basic piece to build up a boho look due to the shape. So I paired it with some DIY cutoffs for a little more festival flare. The finishing touches were the side braid and hat (but let’s be honest it was to disguise my dirty hair), neon tribal necklace, layered rings and booties. Then I jammed to Ellie Goulding in the car so in my mind it was kind of like the first weekend of Coachella minus the desert and all the famous people! I hope you all have a great start to the week!
